MICHAEL PAWLUK On Tuesday, December 5, 2000 at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre, Michael Pawluk passed away at the age of 79 years. Mike was born on May 6, 1921 at Rorketon, MB. He married Doris Boyko on July 22, 1949. They resided in Winnipegosis, MB until their retirement to Dauphin in 1980. Mike was employed for many years as Town Constable of the Village of Winnipegosis. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his youthful years and was a member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Winnipegosis and then in Dauphin. Mike was predeceased by his wife Doris in May of 1990, his brother George and his sisters Anne and Minnie. He leaves to mourn his passing three sons Daniel and wife Gerry Pawluk of Winnipeg, MB, Bill of Winnipeg, MB, John and wife Sandra Pawluk of Minneapolis, MN; five daughters, Nancy and husband Ron Shewchuk of Winnipeg, MB, Elsie and husband Roy Pascal of Winnipegosis, MB, Jayne and husband Calvin Martin of Winnipeg, MB, Stephanie and husband Paul Dillon of Brandon, MB and Sonia and husband Arne Giesbrecht of Steinbach, MB. There are nine grandsons, two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren. One brother Ken Pawluk, three sisters, Mary Mussell, Rose Swysecz and Tennie Zayac all of Ontario. Prayers were offered on Friday, December 8, at 7:00 p.m. from the Sneath Strilchuk Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service was held on Saturday, December 9 at 9:30 a.m. from the Dauphin St. Georges Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Rev. Taras Makowsky officiated with the interment following in the Riverside Cemetery. Active pallbearers were his six oldest grandsons, Jason, Warren and Ryan Shewchuk and Trevor, Colin and Dale Pascal. Should friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Mike to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Dauphin Regional Health Centre. The family would like to thank the staff of the Dauphin General Hospital for their excellent care and patience in caring for Mike. Thanks to the Homecare workers who cared for him at the Seniors Highrise and to Dr. Potoski for his care.
