JOHN CHMELNYTZKI SR. John passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Thursday, December 7, 2000 at the Seven Oaks Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Dad has gone to join his wife Elsie, who predeceased him on December 28, 1996. He is survived by his many children and grandchildren. Dad was born on March 9, 1933, in Meleb, SK. He owned and operated Johns Woodworks, for which he made various items for his children and grandchildren, which we will treasure forever. He maintained his sense of humour during his illness and you never knew what Dad was going to say right until his passing. "The chain is broken again. So long Dad (Grandpa), we love you. Until we link the chain one by one and meet again." At Dads request, no formal service will be held. A private family interment for Mom and Dad will take place at a later date. Our family extends a special thanks to the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion given to Dad and our family during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in Johns memory may be made to the Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation Inc., 2300 McPhillips St., Winnipeg, MB, R2V 3M3.
