Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH SARAH (Betty) WILLIAMSON Peacefully on December 5, 2000, with her family by her side our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother Betty, passed on at the Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, BC at the magnificent age of 95 years. She was predeceased by her mother and father, May and Tom Williams; her sisters, Louisa, Dorothy, Nellie, Ruby and Sally and her grandson Dale. Betty was born in Myrtle, MB on April 1, 1905. She grew up in Roland, MB and married her husband Clif Williamson on December 29, 1925. This coming December 29 would have been their 75th anniversary. Because her husband was a teacher, Betty spent time during her early years of marriage in Beaconia, MB, Miami, MB where their first daughter Dorothy was born, Altamont, MB where their second daughter May was born, Gunton and Selkirk, MB before becoming a permanent resident of Winnipeg. The family lived in Transcona and St. Vital. Betty was an avid curler and skipped her curling rinks to many championships during her membership at the St. Vital Curling Club and also in the small towns where she lived. She also had the honour of being president of the Womens Veterans Curling Association. In her early years Betty also participated in womens hockey, playing on a number of teams in various small towns in Manitoba. Betty cherished her years with her husband Clif at the their summer camp at Rice Lake, ON and also their many winter trips to California. They retired to Victoria, BC in September, 1959 and spent 38 wonderful years at their little "Sea Esta" at 2010 Lorne Terrace in Oak Bay area. They moved to White Rock in February, 1997. Betty leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 75 years Clif; her daughters, Dorothy and May (Bill) her sisters, Mary, June and Joyce (Earl) her brother Earl (Jeanne) grandchildren, Sean, Craig, Leslie, Lori and Bill Jr.; great grandchildren, Sheldon, Kevin, Jessica, Marissa and Kayla. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Arrangements are in care of Valley View Memorial Gardens, Surrey, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Canadian Diabetic Society. A memorial service to celebrate Bettys life will be held in Dorothys home in White Rock, BC. "Miss and love you Mom, now and forever"
