BARNEY EDWARD MICHELL November 24, 1943 - December 7, 2000 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Barney Edward Michell, age 57 years of Peguis, Man. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Brenda, his son Kyle, his daughter Germaine (Wallace) and special grandson Brandon of Winnipeg. He also leaves to mourn, his sister Corrine (Don) Kirkness of Carson City, Nevada, Valerie Ginter of Winnipeg, Raymond Michell of Winnipeg and special nephew Lornne (Destiny) Michell of Winnipeg and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Barney was predeceased by his father Edward, mother Bella, sisters; Hilda, Louise, Bertha and Isabel, brothers; Frederick and Billy. Barney left Peguis at a young age to find work. He worked for Midwest Diamond Drilling and as a construction worker for many years. In his younger years, Barneys work took him across Canada and the United States. He lived in Winnipeg with his wife and children and later retired to Peguis. Barney was a caring, loving, humorous man who was famous for his practical jokes. Barney enjoyed playing bingo, but his biggest enjoyment was playing with son Kyle and grandson Brandon. Barney was always there for anyone who needed a hand or just friendly company. He was loved and well respected by all who knew him, especially his nieces and nephews. Prayers will be said on Sunday, December 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Avenue, Winnipeg.
