RAYMOND BRUCE SCOTT On December 6, 2000, after a courageous battle with cancer, Ray Scott went home to be with his Lord. Ray was predeceased by his parents Mr. And Mrs. Bruce Scott and by his father-in-law Mr. Peter Partyka. He will be sadly missed by his wife Mary Ann, daughter Laura and mother-in-law Sophie Partyka. He also leaves to mourn his passing, his special Auntie Cora, brothers Ross (Janet), Jim (Marie) and Cam (Pat) as well as many uncles, aunties, nephews, nieces and cousins. Ray was born in Grandview, Man., September 13, 1944. For most of his life, Ray was employed with MTS. After 32 years of dedicated service, Ray retired March 27, 1998. Ray was a very special person who would never refuse anyone who asked him for help. He had a great devotion to our Lord, and he always thanked God for each day and all the blessings, which he received. We miss you very much Ray, but we know that you are now with God in heaven. All your suffering is gone now, and one day we hope to be with you in Gods eternal paradise. On behalf of our family, we would like to thank the wonderful staff of the Concordia Hospital who took such good care of Ray during his illness. We would also like to thank everyone for their prayers, support and words of comfort during this difficult time. We would like to convey a special thank-you to our special support person, Meg, who helped in more ways than shell ever know. Finally to our family and friends without whos help we would never have been able to carry on, thank-you from the bottom of our hearts. Prayers will be held on Sunday, December 10 at 7:30 PM at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Munroe and Brazier. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 11, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church with Brother Greg Mulligan, O.F.M., Cap. officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Rays memory to The Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Wpg., R2L 1X3. We did not know that morning What sorrow the day would bring The bitter grief, the shock severe To part with one we love so dear. In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away You suffered much in silence You fought so hard to stay. You faced your task with courage Your spirit did not bend, But still you kept on fighting Until the very end. God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around you And whispered, Come to Me So when we saw you sleeping So peaceful, free from pain We could not wish you back To suffer that again. We Love You, Daddy Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
