NELLIE S. KERR On December 10, 2000 Nellie passed away peacefully at Tuxedo Villa after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer Disease. Nellies memory will be cherished by her brother Gilbert of Ontario and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1983. Nellie was born in Barwick, Ont., on November 19, 1911. In 1926 she moved to Winnipeg with her family. On November 4, 1939 she married Bill Kerr and they would reside in Transcona for over 40 years. Nellie was employed with Mitchell Copp Jewellers for over 25 years. She enjoyed maintaining her home and garden. She loved to cook and bake for her family. Nellie was a social person and loved to meet new people. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew her. Nellies family would like to thank the emergency staff at the Grace Hospital and all of the staff at Tuxedo Villa for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Nellies memory to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate Nellies life will be held on Wednesday, December 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. A gathering of family and friends will follow.
