HELEN ETHYLENE WYND (STUART) (nee STAPLES) Peacefully on December 10, 2000 with her family by her bed, Helen passed from this life to be with the Lord. She leaves those she loved and who loved her, son David Stuart from Vancouver, son Larry (Fay) Stuart; granddaughter Kristi (Derek) Cumming; granddaughter Kym Stuart from Toronto; grandson Michael Stuart from Calgary and the apple of her eye, great granddaughter Meredith Cumming; stepsons, David (Janet) Wynd, Bruce (Brenda) Wynd, Ron (Marion) Kitamura and their children all from Toronto; brother Ev (Ray) Staples from Toronto; sister Margie (Nick) Nixon, as well as many other family and friends. Helen was predeceased by her first husband Alan Stuart and by her second husband Doug Wynd, as well as by her parents and one sister Marion Sutton and a step daughter Joan Kitamura. Helen was an avid golfer, who didnt start playing the game until she had raised her two boys. Once she had taken care of business, she took up the game that Al loved, and spent the summers playing at Elmhurst, Islington Golf Course in Toronto and the winters playing in Destin Florida. She made many wonderful friends in Winnipeg, Toronto and in Florida. In the more recent years, Helens deteriorating health would not allow her to golf, but she continued to follow her game on T.V. She was also a fan of the Toronto Blue Jays. One of Helens greatest joys was the regular visits she got from her great granddaughter Meredith. That baby made her last months so much happier! A Service of Remembrance will be held on December 13 at 11:00 a.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley Street, with The Reverend Father Gerry Ward presiding.
