FLORENCE ELIZABETH CLOUGH Florence Elizabeth Clough passed away peacefully in Penticton, BC on December 6, 2000 at the age of 85. Predeceased by her husband Grove in 1983, Betty is survived by her daughter Ann (Leroy) Allen; sons, Paul (Barbara) and Bruce (Alyson) and grandchildren, Andrew, Elizabeth and Emily. The only granddaughter of Winnipeg pioneer J.H. Ashdown, Betty grew up in Winnipeg, enjoying even its winters and especially her summers at the Lake of the Woods. A graduate of the University of Manitoba, who then attended the Sorbonne, she kept up a lifelong interest in learning and read and traveled widely. As a resident of Naramata in BCs Okanagan Valley for 50 years, this kind lady loved her community and friends and had been active in her church, the Okanagan Summer School of the Arts, the Naramata Choir and the Penticton Art Gallery. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 21 at St. Peters Anglican Church in Naramata. In lieu of flowers, donations to your charity of choice would be appreciated.
