WALTER ASKEW Mr. Walter L. Askew passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2000 in Santa Cruz, California. He was visiting family in Santa Cruz at the time of his death. He was 71 years old. Mr. Askew was a native of Saskatchewan, Canada. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Achievements included 37 years as an agricultural researcher for the Canadian Department of Agriculture. Mr. Askew enjoyed photography, watercolors, golf, fishing, bowling, woodwork and jewellery making. Mr. Askew is survived by his wife May Askew; sister Irene Askew; children, Gordon and Michelle Askew, Linda and Gerry LeBlanc, Eileen and Stephen Wright, David and Caroline Askew; grandchildren, Candice LeBlanc, Daniel LeBlanc, Garrett LeBlanc, Christopher Askew, Lucas Askew, Morgan Wright, Reesa Wright. Memorial contributions are preferred to The Trans Canada Trail, Walter Askew Memorial Fund, 43 Westminster Ave. N., Montreal West, PQ H4X 1X8, 1-800-465-3636 or The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
