Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET McLEAN Margaret McLean of Dauphin, MB passed away on December 10, 2000 at the Dauphin Personal Care Home at the age of 81 years 11 months. Margaret was born December 24, 1918 at Kinistino, Sask. She was the oldest of seven children born to John and Bessie Young. Margaret took her schooling at a country school (Gowanbrae) and finished high school at Kinistino. After graduating from school, she took nurses training at St. Pauls Hospital in Saskatoon. She was nursing at the Sanitarium in Saskatoon when she met her husband of 54 years, Stewart McLean. From this union, one daughter Bernice was born. Margaret carried on her career as a nurse in Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Dauphin for a short time. You might say that Margaret and Stewart were "Snowbirds" as they made their winter home in Weslaco, Texas for several years. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, her husband Stewart in 1996, daughter Bernice in 1984; two sisters, Agnes and Isobel; two brothers Oral and Bill; four sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law and numerous cousins. She leaves to mourn her passing, special granddaughter Brigette April; her son-in-law Maurice April of Winnipeg; brother George (Essie) Young of Pembroke, ON; brother Dan (Violet) Young of Hudson Bay, SK; brothers-in-law Jack (Doreen) Spencley of Minden, ON, Chester Belding of Delta, BC and Bill Cram of Indianhead, SK; sisters-in-law Louise (John) Griffith of Saskatoon, SK and Arizona, U.S.A.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Also her many friends met through the church and at the apartments. Margaret enjoyed her plants and knitting. She also enjoyed having friends in to visit. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 15 at 2:30 p.m. in the Riverside Evergreen Chapel, Dauphin, MB. Rev. Freda Rajotte will officiate and interment will follow in the Dauphin Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Bryce Young, Neil Young, David Young, Tom Lindenback, Ardith Lindenback and Doreen Scott. Friends who so desire may make memorial donations to the charity of ones choice. The Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Service, Dauphin, MB have care of the funeral arrangements. 204-638-4110.
