MABEL (MARTIN) BRUNEAU February 14, 1917 - December 12, 2000 It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing of Mabel Bruneau, beloved mother of Maureen (Ken) Hlady, Edward (Yolande) and Alcide (Lucille) granddaughters, Danielle (Ron), Jo-Anne (Donald), great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Jessie. Mabel is also survived by one sister Marguerite Larson; sisters-in-law, Lucienne Bruneau, Maria MacDonald, Anne Martin, Alma Cheater and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Alex Bruneau in 1977; one grandson Philip Bruneau in 1992; sisters, Julia Martin, Cecilia Francis, Mary Bredeson and brothers, George Martin, John Martin, Joe Martin, Angus Martin and Clifford Martin. Mom was born in Laurier, Manitoba to Jennie Welerton and Edmond Martin. Mom was the youngest of her siblings. Mom spent the last 14 years in the Foyer Chateau Guay in St. Georges. She received excellent home care and was very fond of her girls. Her favourite times were spent playing cards, sharing a good joke and visiting with family and friends. In later years, participation in Adult Day Care were highlights of her weekly activities. She enjoyed her visits with her many friends in the Pine Falls Senior Home. Mabel enjoyed sewing and did lovely embroidery work which she lovingly gave to family and friends. Her grandchildren will remember her for the countless hours spent with them teaching them to do embroidery work and to play a good hand of crib. Loving and patient, she was always willing and eager to lend a helping hand any way she could. Her strong faith and devotion to God and her church sustained her throughout her life. Funeral services will be held at St. Georges Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, December 16 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Rejean Belanger officiating. Special thanks to Cecile, the Ambulance Attendants, nursing staff at Blue Water Health Clinic, Dr. Neimand and Dr. vanRooyan.
