CLIFFORD (CLIFF) RAYMOND PHILLIPS January 23, 1933 - December 12, 2000 It is with our deepest regret that we announce the passing of Cliff Phillips at his home on Tuesday, December 12, 2000 at the age of 67. He will be greatly missed by his wife Pat of 45 years; daughter Lori of Vancouver; sons, Chris and Gord (Karin) and his precious grandchildren, Kristin, Julianne and Robert Junior; his brother Don (Barbara) and family who reside in Alberta. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Bill and Mary Phillips and his never forgotten son, Robert, who passed away in 1991. Cliff was born and raised in Winnipeg and he attended Faraday for his Elementary school years and Hugh John McDonald for Junior High. He went on to graduate from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate receiving his school crest for the sport he clearly loved, basketball. He believed in self-motivation and was a certified trainer for the Earl Nightingale Human Resources Training Programs in the early 70s. He went on to establish his own Human Resources Consulting firm, Personal Dynamics then Performax Systems. He became an authorized independent distributor for the Carlson Training Group and enjoyed his work promoting various programs to people across Canada, the United States and Europe. Cliff enjoyed his summers with family and friends at the cottage at Grand Beach where he played cribbage and excelled in horseshoe tournaments. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 16 at 1:00 p.m. in the John XXIII Roman Catholic Church - Assiniboia Christian Centre, 3390 Portage Avenue at Rouge Road with Rev. Msgr. Norman J. Chartrand P.A. presiding and Deacon Gary McCallum assisting. A private family interment will take place on Monday where Cliff will rest with his father, mother and son in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. Our family wishes to thank the pallbearers including Nick Hill, Ted Sokol, Doug Bain, Morris Phillips, Grant Phillips and Harry Salamacha. Special thanks from our family to Dr. T. H. Gooi and Dr. Harris, the nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Grace Hospital, and especially to the VON nurse, Mariette. Love and thanks to our neighbours, friends and relatives for their many helpful deeds and support to Cliff and his family. A special thanks to the parishioners from John XXIII for their thoughts and prayers during his courageous battle with cancer.
