LEONE DALE (nee Bourbonnais) On Friday, December 15, 2000, Leone Dale passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospital at the age of 88 years. Leone was born September 13, 1912 in Winnipeg. She attended Ecole Sacre Coeur, Academie St. Joseph and Winnipeg Normal School. On graduating she began her teaching career at St. Laurent, MB, then in 1934 she took a position at Ellice School, St. Lazare, MB where she met and married Frank. Together they spent many happy years on the farm. Leone brought her love of music and appreciation of education to several generations of students at Ellice School and Birtle Collegiate. In 1984 after Franks death she moved to Winnipeg to be close to her daughters and family. Leone was predeceased by her husband Frank; her parents; brother Lucien and sister Ghislaine. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Diane Peden (Bob) and Joan Dale; grandchildren, Kevin and Jennifer Peden; brothers and sisters, Leo, Louis (June), John, Lorraine Williams, Yolande (Mike) Genthon and sister-in-law Maureen Bourbonnais of Winnipeg, Philippe of Montreal, Father Denis Bourbonnais of Flin Flon; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Eileen Dale of St. Lazare and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed John XXIII Parish, 3390 Portage Avenue at Rouge Road, on Wednesday, December 20 at 2:00 p.m. presided by Fr. Denis Bourbonnais, O.M.I., and Msgr. Norman J. Chartrand, P.A., S.T.L., J.C.L. Viewing prior to the service at 1:30 p.m. Service to terminate at the church with cremation to follow. Interment at a later date in St. Lazare, MB. If friends so desire, a donation in Leones memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
