An avid paddler, she met Maurice at the Winnipeg Canoe Club. Following their marriage and a brief residence in Winnipeg they moved to Brandon. She continued her charity work with the Associated Canadian Travellers (ACT) serving as President of the Ladies Auxiliary. Living briefly again in Winnipeg and then Oakville, Ontario before returning to St. James where Isobel resided for the past 30 years. She had a varied business career with Central Scientific, Patrick Realty and Assiniboine Clinic. The love of her life was the cottage she and Maurice built together. Their many trips to Hawaii and around North America sustained her in later years when travel was no longer possible. Isobels rapier wit and full command of English served her well when playing a challenging game of scrabble or doing crossword puzzles. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to all the supportive friends and to nursing staff on 4W at the Grace General Hospital: Donna, Joe, Shawna, Janet and Cora; also the dedicated doctors, Dr. Homik and his staff and Dr. Chernick for their excellent care. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to The Salvation Army/Grace General Hospital or to a charity of your choice.
