Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE HENRY HOLLINS Peacefully, in his sleep, George passed away on Friday, December 15, 2000 at his residence. George will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 66 years, Alice and their seven children, Barry (Laurie), Wayne (Marie), Gerry (Dorothy), David, Sandra (Ernie) Miller, Judy Panasuk and Janis. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. George also leaves a brother Joseph and a sister Phyliss Lawson. He was predeceased by parents, Charles and Charlotte and a sister Rose Sansome. George was born on September 9, 1911 in St. Charles, MB. He served overseas with the Army Services Corps from 1940 to 1945. This was the only time in their married life that they were ever far apart. He was employed in the car industry for 20 years, upon retiring he opened a miniature golf course and driving range at Grand Beach which he operated for nine years. Winters were spent at Qualicium Beach, BC, where Pop and Mom eventually took up residency for 16 years. In 1996 they returned to Manitoba to be with family. George was an avid golfer and in his lifetime accomplished seven holes in one. He was always available for a game, up until October of this year. Cremation has taken place and in keeping with Georges wishes, no service will be held. If friends so desire, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation at 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8.
