Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDOUARD ALBERT JOSEPH HERIE It is with great sadness that the family announce his passing on December 13, 2000. He was predeceased by our mom Arzelia (April 29, 1967) his second wife Marie-Ange in 1993; several brothers and sisters; grandson Edward; and great-granddaughter Lorie-Ann. Edouard is survived by three sons, Albert (Eva), Henry (Donna), and Roland (Sharon), all of Winnipeg; nine daughters, Jean Oram, Lorie (George) Vermette, Denise (Ed) Demetrioff, Linda (Jerry) Main, Terry Vermette, and Sandra (Don) Courtland, all of Winnipeg, Claudette (Jim) Norbury of Prince Albert, Gisele (Don) Bernier of Dryden, Aline (Denis) Tetreault of Thunder Bay. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter; his sister Marie-Ange Lauze and sister-in-law Marie-Ange Herie. Dad was born on April 22, 1903 in St. Jean Baptiste, Man. He married Arzelia in 1934. They moved to Winnipeg and settled in St. Vital. A country boy at heart and a man with great insight he fulfilled a great need by establishing Ed Heries Feed Store. Dad provided years of dedicated service to his many customers, especially those in dire need. During his retirement years he mastered the art of braiding hangers which he sold and donated all the proceeds to fund numerous surgeries to restore sight to 50 blind children and adults in third world countries. This was something Dad was very proud of. He was a "patenteur" there was nothing he couldnt fix. He had a great sense of humour and we will all miss his great stories, both funny and profound. We love and admire him for his wisdom and the love and care he gave to us. Pallbearers will be Dan Bernier, Michael Cram, Jamie Tetreault, Brad Demetrioff, Keith Herie and Derek Herie. Honorary pallbearer will be his best friend Alex Box. Prayers will be said on Sunday, December 17 at 7:30 p.m. from Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 East at Green Acres Lane. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 18 at 10:30 a.m. in Precieux-Sang, 200 rue Kenny Street with viewing one half hour prior to the service. M. labbe Marcele Chaput presiding. Cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edouards memory to Operation Eyesight Universal, 4 Parkdale Crescent, N.W. Calgary, Alta., T2N 3T8. The family would like to thank St. Boniface General Hospital, 5th and 6th floor and also to Home Care for their care and compassion. "A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands laid to rest. Good-bye Dad. Surveillez Nous." GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
