Wales U.K. On Tuesday, December 12, 2000, Dolly, age 97, passed away peacefully in the presence of her daughter, at the Victoria Hospital. Dolly was predeceased by her husband David and four sisters, Beatty, Glady, Chrisy and Milly. Surviving her are her daughter Diane Caley of Winnipeg and her son Laurence (Pat) Caley; granddaughters, Suzanne and Jacqueline Caley of Caerphilly and her youngest sister Helen Carter of Cardiff, U.K. Dolly was born in Cardiff to Elizabeth and Edwin Carter. She lived with her parents until she married David Caley in 1928. In 1983, after the death of her husband, she chose to immigrate to Canada to be with her daughter, she was 80 years old. For 16 years Dolly was affectionately known as "Mum" to the many boarders who stayed at their home and was a much loved member of the Parish Family of St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church. According to her wishes, a celebration of her life will be held in St. Michael and All Angels Church, 300 Hugo St., on Monday, December 18 at 12:00 noon. A reception will be provided by the ladies of the parish family in the church hall after the service. Dolly will later be laid to rest with her husband, David, in Wales. Our family wishes to thank the staff at the Convalescent Home of Winnipeg, who cared for Dolly for the past two years, and the staff at the Victoria Hospital for the care they gave her during her last hours and the support they showed the family.
