DOMENICA BARBARA DILALLO (MINNIE) (nee Provenzano/ Provinciano) June 5, 1924 - December 14, 2000 It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Minnie Dilallo on December 14, 2000 at the Riverview Health Care Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After being admitted to the hospital on December 10th, Minnie was constantly surrounded by family and friends. On Thursday morning at approximately 10:00 a.m. peaceful and content with her lifes journey, our loved-one ended her courageous battle with cancer and related diseases. Her spirit and life-force over the past 76 years is a legacy to us all. Born to Frank and Camilla Provinciano in Winnipeg, Minnie lived for many years with her parents in Fort Garry where she attended General Byng and General Steele Schools. She married Antonio (Tony) Dilallo on October 12, 1946 and they raised a daughter Nina-Marie and a son Wayne Joseph. Minnie and Tony celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1996. Tony passed away on October 24th that same year. She is best remembered for her indomitable will, laughter and loving committment to family, friends and acquaintances. Minnie believed and practiced that the essence of life in this troubled world was to serve others at whatever cost to her personal well- being. The golden rule "give and ye shall receive", was her motto. It is therefore quite understandable that her siblings often referred to her as their own "Mother Teresa". Minnie and her family owned and operated three fine Italian restaurants over the years. In addition, she was employed for several years at the Great West Life Assurance Co. where she was recognized many times by a jury of her peers as "Very Best Person To Work With". A life-long doll enthusiast with an extensive collection requiring "miles" of shelf space. She imparted a passion for the hobby to her two precious granddaughters, Summer and Sandy. Domenica Barbara Dilallo will be sorely missed by all those who knew her, even for the briefest of moments. Only Minnie herself could ever provide a complete listing of family, friends and acquaintances she loved, cherished and adored. While in Hospital, she started writing a list of all the people she cared about. This list covered several pages and her only regret was that she was unable to complete it to her satisfaction. She took comfort in the knowledge that all those people on the list and those she thought about continually "know who they are". Nina and Wayne, together with Minnies sister Angeline, brothers Neno, Marce and Rocky and the entire Provinciano and Dilallo families invite you to pay your respects. Viewing will be held on Sunday, December 17, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 18, at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue, with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano Presiding at the Eucharist. Interment will follow at Garry Memorial Park, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. A reception will follow after the graveside service at Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. In lieu of flowers, donations in Minnies memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 100 Oliva Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3E OV9.
