Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAROLD OSCAR NORDMAN Passed away at the Rock Lake Personal Care Home, Pilot Mound, Man., on Tuesday, December 5, 2000, Harold Oscar Nordman aged 87 years. Harold Nordman was born in the Cypress River area on August 4, 1913 to Gudmundur and Sigurbjorg Nordman -- the third of five children. He was educated at Cypress Valley School and farmed in the Cypress River area until he joined the Army during the Second World War. After he returned to Canada from Europe, he farmed for a few years and then worked at carpentry and bridge building -- with Cypress River his home base. After he retired he moved into the Cypress River Lodge. His final years were spent in the Rock Lake Personal Care Home in Pilot Mound. Harold enjoyed music, dancing, keeping up with current events and visiting with friends and relatives. He valued family relationships and took care of his mother during her last years. He was a loyal member of the Legion. A quiet reserved man, he had a warm sense of humour and was thought of with affection by relatives, friends, coworkers and medical staff. Harold was predeceased by his parents, brother Frank Nordman and sister-in-law Lois Nordman; brother Wilbert Nordman; brother Carl Nordman and sister Lillian Chester and brother-in-law Al Chester. Harold is survived by sister-in-law Anna Nordman (wife of Wilbert Nordman) sister-in-law Leita Nordman (wife of Carl Nordman) nephew Donald Nordman (son of Wilbert and Anna) nephew Calvin Nordman and niece Cathy Milne (son and daughter of Carl and Leita) nephews, Bob Chester and Terry Chester (sons of Lillian and Al) as well as numerous other relatives. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 9 at the Cypress River United Church with Rev. Art Veldhuis officiating. Interment followed in the Bru Cemetery. Pallbearers were Donald Nordman, Walter Morrow, Glenn Young, Russell Yeo, Donald Daymond and David Campbell.
