FRANZ XAVIER BERNDL Early on Sunday, December 17, 2000, with his wife and daughters by his side, Frank passed away peacefully. Predeceased by his daughter Bela, he will be missed by his wife of 52 years, Maria; daughters, Mary (Rick), Erika (Bruce), Maggie (Robert), Lydia and Cindy (Dale) grandchildren, Tamara, Sean, Scott, Kristen, Brittany, Bennet, Meagan; great-grandson Cody and son-in-law Gordon. Frank was born in Wels, Austria on May 22nd, 1926, the eldest of 14 children. He will be missed by his brothers and sisters in Austria and Switzerland. After coming to Canada in 1953, Frank and Maria survived many hard times, but built a good life, which revolved around their family. Many of his happiest times were spent at Caribou Falls camping and fishing with family and friends. Our Dad was the best campfire builder ever. The family extends their thanks to the St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit for their kind care and especially to Sister Rose for her kindness. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in Franks memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St. Wpg R3C 9Z9. To honour his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 20, at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. WE LOVE YOU DAD.
