FRANCES BURZYNSKI It is with sadness, yet deep gratitude and much hope that the family of Frances Burzynski announces her birth into eternal life on December 17, 2000. Frances was born in 1913 in Karaczun, Poland. She married Bronislaw in 1937 and in 1949 they immigrated to Canada, settling in the district of Letellier and Emerson in southern Manitoba. They eventually moved to Winnipeg and became devout parishioners of Holy Ghost Church. Frances was a faith-filled and courageous woman. She took great delight in her family, especially her grandson Jeff, her granddaughter Kate, and her many relatives and friends. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowerbeds, baking and cooking. She was indeed a master perogi and cabbage roll maker! Frances was predeceased by her husband Bronek in 1979. Left to mourn her passing are her daughter Sister Irene Burzynski of St. Benedicts Monastery in Winnipeg; her son Andy, his wife Jane; and grandchildren, Dr. Jeff Burzynski and Kate; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Viewing and praying of the rosary, a devotion very dear to the heart of Frances, will be held at Holy Ghost Church, 341 Selkirk Ave., on Wednesday, December 20 at 10:00 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:30 a.m. with an Oblate Father officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her two nephews, Ed and Henry Burzynski, as well as George Tomlinson, Scott Bailey, Andrew Pringle and Rob Thompson. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Sisters of St. Benedict and to the Monastery Health Care nursing staff for the loving and compassionate care given their beloved mother and grandmother during her short stay there. Flowers are gratefully declined. If you wish, you may honour the memory of Frances Burzynski with a donation to St. Benedicts Foundation, 225 Masters Ave., Winnipeg, MB R4A 2A1. MAY THE ANGELS LEAD HER INTO PARADISE Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
