DOUGLAS JOHN REITH On December 16, 2000 at Grace Hospital, Douglas John Reith age 79, beloved husband of Irene. Doug was born in Winnipeg on August 14, 1921. He served in the R.C.A.F. during the Second World War, and was employed by the Department of National Defence until his retirement in 1981. Doug was an avid golfer and bowler. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Florence Reith, his brothers Bill and Walter, and sisters Effie and Dorothy. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Irene; son David; daughter Linda Johnson, son-in-law Don Johnson; grandchildren Eric and Carleigh Johnson; brother Tom and his wife Marie Reith and brother-in-law Reg Little of Courtenay B.C. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 20 at 1:00 p.m. in The Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. Those who wish may make a donation to Grace General Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7 or a charity of their choice.
