NAPOLEON (PAUL) BERNARDIN Peacefully in his sleep after a lengthy illness, Paul Bernardin beloved husband of Jeannette (Clement) died on Saturday December 16, 2000 at the Deer Lodge Centre. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jeannette and seven children; Ken, David, Don, Raymond (Lorraine), Shannon, Michel, Helene (Bruce Larway), and Roger Chabot, whom dad regarded as a son; ten grandchildren; Justin, Shaunna, David Jr, Adam, Philippe, Jocelyne, Danielle, Neil, Marc, Brad and by one great-granddaughter Madison. He also leaves to mourn two brothers, Wilfrid (the "old fella") (Henriette), and Adelard (Eveline) one sister Ethel Beaudin; one sister-in-law Yvette Bernardin and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Paul was predeceased by one daughter Nicole, one granddaughter Sarah, his mother Henriette, his father Henry, one brother Leo and by one brother-in-law Moise Beaudin. Paul was born in Waterhen on March 24, 1921 and moved to St. Eustache in 1927. In 1943 he joined the Armed Forces P.P.C.L.I. and then transferred to the Winnipeg Rifle Regiment. He served in Holland, Belgium and Germany and returned to Canada in 1946. He then married Jeannette Clement of St. Boniface. They settled in St. Eustache, where they raised their eight children. Paul was a self employed carpenter. In April of 1990, due to a debilitating illness he was admitted to Deer Lodge Centre. Paul will be forever remembered for his love of life, particularly hunting, fishing his great hospitality, and active community involvement. He will be lovingly remembered by all his grandchildren. "We love you, Pepere". Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Eustache Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday December 19 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Interment at a later date at the St. Eustache Parish Cemetery. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the caring staff of T7, especially Cindy, Dianne J., Tracy, Sandy and many others too numerous to mention. As an expression of sympathy, friends or family may send memorial donations to the Deer Lodge Centre or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Manitoba.
