M. JEAN (SIS) NICHOL M. Jean (Sis) Nichol passed away peacefully on Monday, December 18, 2000 at the Grace General Hospital with family by her side. Jean was born January 29, 1909 in Winnipeg and was raised on the farm at Fortier. She received her education in Oakville and then graduated from Normal School in Brandon. She taught school at Huron Colony and Elm Creek before working for Cargill Ltd (formerly McCabes) until her retirement. Jean leaves to mourn her passing her brother-in-law, Mowat Ward of Winnipeg; a sister-in-law, May Nichol of Oakville; her nephews, Arch (Lois), Tom (Lois), Dan and Mowat and their families. She was predeceased by her parents Archie and Margaret (nee Miller) her sister Elizabeth (Ebb) Ward and her brother Tom Nichol. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. C. Fletcher, the staff of 4 West at Grace Hospital, Chaplain McFarlane and all the volunteers for the special care given to Jean. A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, December 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre, 4000 Portage Ave. Cremation committal will follow in Oakville Cemetery at a later date.
