EVELYN MAY HOPWOOD (nee FULLER) December 2, 1901 - December 18, 2000 Peacefully, on December 18, 2000 at her home in Transcona, May passed away at the age of 99. She is survived by her daughter Marjorie, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Leonard and her brothers and sister. May came to Canada in 1910 and settled with her family in South Transcona where she resided for 21 years. She was married in St. Georges Church in 1931 by the Rev. Nixon. She had been a member of St. Georges since its inauguration. She was a member of the first confirmation class. She also served as treasurer of St. Georges School for 23 and one half years. She will be sadly missed by all her remaining family. A funeral service will be held at St. Georges Church, 425 Rosseau Ave., East, on Thursday, December 21 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Victoria Shaw-Zdanowski officiating. Interment to follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Poredos, Frank Poredos Jr., Don Torrance and her nephews, Mark Fuller, Doug Harding and Dave Harding. A special thanks to all of the care givers that attended to her needs daily: the nurses, the home care staff and co-ordinators from Transcona Division.
