Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAWRENCE EDWARD PAPUGA Suddenly, Lawrence Edward Papuga of Winnipeg passed away at home on Sunday, December 17, 2000, at the age of 62 years. Lawrence was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Winnie Papuga. Lawrence will be sadly missed by his wife of 40 years, June; two sons James and Rob Deighton; daughters-in-law Mary Louise and Allison; two granddaughters Sydney and Ashley; his mother-in-law Nina Deighton; sister Betty Robinson and husband Bruce; nieces Beverly Coates and Brenda Reinhardt; nephew David Barbour and their families. He is also survived by his Aunts Mary Moffatt, Rose Marchenski and Marge Papuga; his Uncle Willie Saari and many cousins. Lawrence was born in Rorketon, MB, on October 13, 1938. Lawrence married June Deighton on April 30, 1960, in Dauphin, MB, where they resided for several years before moving to Winnipeg in 1969 with his young family, settling in the St. James area. Lawrence was an extremely hard worker, and those at theProvince of Manitoba Highways and Bridge Engineering Dept. will remember Lawrence for his 36 years of dedicated service. Since retiring in 1992, Lawrence continued to live an active and full life, spending time with his family and close friends. Lawrence was always there to help with his sons latest household project, and in more recent years, his two granddaughters were a constant source of pride and joy. Summers at the family cabin will never be the same. Lawrence was a man of few words, whose quiet and gentle nature will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held on Friday, December 22, at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, with Reverends Don McIntyre and Lind Barbour officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8.
