IDA FRANCES DAWSON January 15, 1911 - December 19, 2000 After a brief illness our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre. Ida will be lovingly remembered by her son Robert (Helen) Dawson; daughter Patricia (James) Gray; grandchildren, Sheri (Kevin) Lefevre, Colleen (Michel) Lavallee, Darlene Gray; great-grandson Jason Lavallee and brother Aylmer (Arlene) Dunlop. Ida was predeceased by her husband Harold; her parents; sister Kathleen; brothers, Frank, Jack and Norman. Ida was born in Prairie Grove, Man., on January 15, 1911. She worked in the family general store, Post Office and farm. She married Harold on November 13, 1937 and continued to live in Prairie Grove. The family moved to Winnipeg in 1951. With the passing of her husband, Ida moved to Lions Manor where she was a resident until her passing. Special thanks to the staff of Rimmer House (Lions Manor), Klinic Community Health, the Victoria General Hospital and the staff of the Riverview Health Centre. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 23 at 11:00 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway with Rose Ferries officiating. Cremation will follow. The service will terminate at the chapels. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Idas memory to the Cancer Care Manitoba, ON109-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, R3E 0V9 or the Alzheimers Society, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
