Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAN (JOHN) NIZIO Suddenly on Thursday, December 21, 2000, John Nizio aged 81 years, passed away at his residence. Predeceased by his parents, Jozef and Tekla Nizio and brothers, Walter and Thomas, all in Poland. John leaves to mourn his dear wife Anna; only son Ed and his wife Cathy and his beloved grandchildren, Katelynd and Lexis. John was born on November 12, 1919 in Loszniow, Poland. At the outbreak of the Second World War he and his younger brother Walter joined the Polish Army and fought in the Battle of Monte Casino in Italy. When the war ended, he emigrated to Canada. Young "Wladziu" was not as fortunate. After spending a year as a farm labourer in Saskatchewan, he moved to Winnipeg where he met and married his bride Anna in 1949, where they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary last year. He worked at C.P.R. for some 30 years until he took early retirement at the age of 60. Since then, he has kept himself happy and occupied by lovingly tending to his home and garden. In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, of which his wife Anne suffers, or to a charity of your choice. Viewing and prayer service will be held at St. John Cantius Church, 846 Burrows Avenue, on Wednesday, December 27 at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Mass of Resurrection. Interment will be held at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 MAIN STREET 338-7111
