Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJANICE KAREN MONKMAN It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter and sister, Janice Karen Monkman, on December 20, 2000, at her residence. Janice was born on May 22, 1971. She grew up in Eriksdale, Man., and lived there until moving to Arborg, Man. Janice enjoyed reading and spending time with her two nephews and niece. Whenever there were children around, you would always see Janice right there with them. She remained active by riding her bike and going for walks. With the short time that she was with us, she showed us that "wherever there is a will, there is a way." Janice was diagnosed with Epilepsy at the young age of 12. She has fought a long and hard battle and had accomplished many outstanding achievements in her life. She had the wonderful gift of enriching peoples lives with her smiles, determination and strength that she passed onto others. Janice will be in our hearts always. She leaves to mourn her mother Pauline; father Hector; sister Cindy (Bruce) and nephew Colt, sister Melinda (Raynard) and niece Brittany and nephew Noah; grandfather Lawrence; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, godchild Kyle, special friend Thelma Cosens, Shirley Manson and many other friends. Janice was predeceased by her grandmother Grace and an uncle Elmer. A celebration of Janices life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, at the Eriksdale Recreational Centre, with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Service will conclude at the Recreational Centre with cremation to follow. Pallbearers will be her uncles, Paul, Peter, Edward, Elvis and Wayne. Everyone in attendance can consider themselves honorary pallbearers. Special thanks to all the doctors and nursing staff that cared for Janice over the years, to the people in the communities of Eriksdale and Arborg and the surrounding areas and to the Arnason Funeral Home for all their help. A warm thank you to her special friend Thelma for all her devoted care and love she gave to Janice. In Janices memory, flower donations can be made to the Childrens Hospital Foundation, Room CE 501, 840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, Man., R3A 1S1, or to the Society for Manitobans with Disabilities Foundation, 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, Man., R3A 1M5.
