MARY NEUFELD The family announces with sadness the passing of their mother and oma Mary Neufeld, aged 97 on December 20, 2000. Predeceased by her husband Nikolai; two brothers, Aaron and Cornelius, and two sisters, Anna and Helena, and her son-in-law Hank. Mary will be deeply missed by her loving family, daughters, Lena (Cliff) Boss, Mary Penner, Heather Guenther; son John (Helen) Neufeld, and grandsons, Douglas (Wendy) Neufeld and Michael Guenther and two dearly loved great-grandchildren, Johnathon and Andrew Neufeld; brother-in-law John Neufeld, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Mary was born in Russia, married Nikolai Neufeld and immigrated to Canada. Their early years were spent in Plum Coulee where Mary owned and operated a general store and later boarding house. They moved to Lockport but after three years moved on to Winnipeg, where she again ran a boarding house, and worked at various jobs such as banking and cooking. When she was 81, Mary moved to Meadowood to be close to her husband. Her last months were spent happily in Bethania Personal Care Home. The family express their heartfelt gratitude for the loving and compassionate care Mary received there. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. Viewing one hour before the service, with interment to follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to all the staff at Bethania South side for the loving care given to Mary. If friends and family desire, donations in memory of Mary may be made to Bethania Personal Care Home, 1045 Concordia Ave., Winnipeg R2K 3S7.
