ADDA GRACE WATSON (nee MOORE) July 3, 1909 - December 21, 2000 Born in Cypress River, Man., to James Peter and Elizabeth Moore. Adda was active in sports as a youth and throughout her life as a participant, spectator and supporter of others, especially her sons, Ken and Dwight. After finishing school in the 1920s, Adda went on to work for the Manitoba Telephones as an operator in rural Manitoba. She traveled around to towns and trained and set up other operators. In 1940 Adda met and married Bill Watson. In 1942 Kenneth was born and in 1944 Dwight was born. Adda resided in Winnipeg for a majority of her life. Prior to retirement in 1972, Adda worked for Federal Grain for 21 years. Upon retirement Adda moved to Fred Douglas Lodge where she lived in an independent suite. Some of her happiest times were spent gardening and serving on the residents board. Adda won many prizes for her beautiful garden. During this time Adda and her sister Marion McIvor traveled frequently on bus excursions to Texas and Southern States. Adda also had the pleasure of traveling overseas to see her son in Denmark in 1984 and 1986. One of these trips, Adda, Dwight and her granddaughter Marcia went to Scotland where she was able to see the Moore familys roots in Aberdeen. In the early 1990s, Adda was diagnosed with Alzheimers disease and moved to Oakview Extendicare in 1992, where she received wonderful care. Predeceased by siblings Merle, Ray, Dave, and Eric. Adda leaves to mourn her sister Marion McIvor; her sons, Ken (Evangeline) Watson of Winnipeg, Dwight Watson of Copenhagen, Denmark; granddaughters, Cynthia (Darrel) Hrap, Marcia (Alan) Sealey and numerous nieces and nephews throughout Canada and U.S.A.
