LEONE MARY HANDFORD (nee ATKINSON) Peacefully in her sleep, Leone passed away on December 22, 2000, at Riverview Health Centre in her 84th year. She was predeceased by her loving husband Borden in 1998. She will be sadly missed by her son Dennis (Marlene) and daughter Sharon (Wayne). She will also be missed by her three grandchildren, Karen, Sue (Steve), Ben (Barb), six great-grandchildren and her sister, brothers and many nieces and nephews. Leone was born in Carnduff, Sask., November 6, 1916 and later moved to Pilot Mound, Man., where she met Borden and married and moved to Winnipeg. She worked for several years as a switchboard operator with Eatons. She lived her life for her family and derived great pleasure from her church. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service in her memory will be held on Thursday, December 28 at 1:30 p.m. at the Fort Gary United Church, 800 Point Rd. If friends so desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Cancer Society or a charity of ones choice. Graham Funeral Home of Pilot Mound is in care of arrangements.
