KEVIN NEIL BEST On Friday December 22, 2000, after a lengthy illness, Kevin Best passed away at Deer Lodge Centre surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by Betty-Lou, his beloved wife of 49 years; son Michael Neil, of Toronto; son Rick (Marie) daughters, Judy Peters (Bob), Nancy Ullenboom (Ray) and grandchildren, Ryan and Megan Best, Russell and Allison Peters and Matthew and Derek Ullenboom all of Winnipeg. Kevin is also survived by his identical twin brother Dr. Brian Best (Jean) of Winnipeg; sisters, Mona Waugh of Calgary and Moira McLean of Shoal Lake, Man.; nephews, Bob (Joyce), Craig (Cecile), Jim (Charlene) nieces, Shelagh (Les) and Linda. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Dr. Robert and Ann Best; sister Kathleen Ashley and brother Denis. Kevin was born August 20, 1910 in Chandlers Ford, Southampton, England and came with his family to Canada in 1911. He worked in the graphic arts field in Winnipeg and Toronto for over 47 years, retiring in 1977. Many thanks to the staff of Victoria and Grace Hospitals and 2W Deer Lodge Centre; to Phil and Barbara Barnett, heartfelt thanks for their ongoing comfort and support. A family service was held on Christmas Eve Day. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 27 at 2:30 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapel, 669 Broadway. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation Chapel Fund.
