SHIRLEY VERA THERESA REDER (WINZINOWICH)
Date of Passing: Dec 23, 2000
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHIRLEY VERA THERESA REDER (nee WINZINOWICH) It is with deep sorrow and regret that we wish to announce the sudden passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Shirley, on Saturday, December 23, 2000. She was predeceased by her dear mother Mary Winzinowich on December 21, 1993. Shirley leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband Arvin; her sons, Duane and Darren, Duanes wife Eva, their children Brooke and Cole and her loving sister Connie Winzinowich, all of Winnipeg. Also mourning her loss, all her relatives and many friends who loved and will dearly miss her. Special mention of Rosalie and daughter Lee (Brampton, Ont.) who were like a second mother and sister when Arvin and Shirley were stationed in Trenton, Ont., Al and Lilo (Winnipeg), Harold and Lorraine (Terrace Bay, Ont., Len and Jeanette (Garson), Noreen (Lac du Bonnet) and all her nieces and nephews whom she loved so dearly and many others too numerous to list, but not forgotten. Shirley devoted her life to family and friends. Over her brief lifetime, she lived in various cities across Canada with her husband Arvin (while he was in the Canadian Air Force) and sons Duane and Darren. She worked in numerous occupations that revealed her many extraordinary talents including: a radio announcer hosting her own show, because of her outgoing and friendly personality she opened numerous night-clubs in both Canada and the U.S.A., she enjoyed the work and challenges of being a legal secretary, she was a bartender in the senior ranks mess at CFB Edmonton where she always wore a smile and would lend an ear for anyone that wanted to talk or a shoulder on which to cry, and most recently in retail sales in Winnipeg where her customers returned many times and would often seek her advice about any subject other than sales and all the many young customers that would stop by because they knew she would listen to them and would care about their concerns and offer comfort when required. She was a gifted lady who was never afraid of any challenge. With her bubbly personality, she gave her life to family and friends and asked for nothing in return. She was there for everyone and not only opened her door, but her heart as well. Shirley was a rare and beautiful wife, mother and sister and can never be replaced. We love you Shirley, Mom - how can we go on without you. For Shirley, Mom You sent us the key through your smile that unlocked all the happy words, that sounded as flutelike tones amongst the wool herds, flowing like a river, carrying our hearts love for you over time. We still hear the sound of your low whispers, happy and gentle on the telephone, that would sing out in notes of love and melody finding your heart was always our home, as we search for the words to say farewell to you, and love you for all time. We send you the best roses along with the finest twilight flowers reminding you the petals will fade, but not your memory, in passing days and hours, we shared precious moments sometimes sipping our favourite wine. We hope you enjoyed your heavenly Christmas and the fresh taste of peppermint, which we meticulously placed inside an envelope that we sent, over the many oceans of memories and laughter, we shared over time. We will send you to the sand and leaves of the palm trees that shaded you in the past, also reminding you the strength of the tree like our love for you will forever last. Like mimicking waves on the River Rhine, we will wave goodbye in pantomime, as you greeted us with your dimpled smile and warmth like the balmy winds of June, sharing many laughs and quiet conversations in the late afternoon. Now you departed during cold Northwest winds that erased summers last sign. We will send you the grains of sweet crystalline, that you used to place in your coffee and tea, to remind us these sweet grains will never melt the memories of you among friends from sea to sea. You left on a staircase to heaven, we remain here to spend our days searching while letting our memories roam, to our favourite places, remembering you we will never be alone. Nevertheless, we send you our prayers and love, knowing we will all be together again in heaven through Jesus for an eternity of time. . . With all our love, Arvin, Darren, Duane and Eva, Brooke and Cole, Connie and all your loving friends. Anyone wishing to pay their last respects may do so on Thursday, December 28, between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg. Celebration of her life and funeral mass to be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 29, at Mary Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Ave., Winnipeg, with Father Carl Tarpolinski officiating. The pallbearers will be Duane Reder, Darren Reder, Dennis Reder, Harold Prill, Len Czastkiewicz and Al Chalk. Arrangements in care of: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
