Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES (JIM) ALEXANDER HOWARD We are saddened to announce the passing of James (Jim) Alexander Howard. A wonderful husband, devoted father, loving grandfather, brother, father-in-law, and friend. Jim left us suddenly to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 23, 2000. He was born on May 18, 1945, in Victoria, BC. Mourning him is his wife Myrna; children, John, Irene, and Catherine; grandchildren, Karissa, Alanna, Candace and Thomas; daughter-in-law Maryann; son-in-law Mike; sister Heather Scheel and her husband Bruce; and our special friend Patrick Magnan. We cannot begin to express how devastated we are to lose this great man, though we are comforted knowing that he is now with his Lord. All who knew Jim knew of his selflessness and always dependable work ethic. There was nothing that he would not do for his family, friends, or the patients he visited regularly during his career as a Chaplain. When Jim founded Chaplaincy Associates, he knew that visiting the sick, the lonely, and the dying would be difficult work, but it was the Lords work, and, like everything he did, he gave it all he had. Jim never rested or relaxed or took a moment for himself. We know now that he is resting peacefully and we find solace in that. Jim leaves a legacy that cannot easily be expressed in words. Those who knew him will feel his love throughout their lives. We will endeavour to touch the lives of others as he did and emulate this man whom we love so much and miss so terribly. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills: O whence cometh my help? My help cometh even from the Lord, who hath made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: and he that keepeth thee will not sleep. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord himself is thy keeper: the Lord is thy defence upon thy right hand; So that the sun shall not burn thee by day, neither the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: yea, it is even he that shall keep thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in, from this time forth for evermore. PSALM 121 Services will be held on Wednesday, December 27 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Christian Blind Mission International, P.O. Box 800, Stouffville, ON, L4A 7Z9, the Gideons or League for Life of Manitoba. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
