PETER KONDRATIUK It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, on Tuesday, December 26, 2000, at 93 years of age. East Gate Lodge was his residence for the last 21 months. Peter was born in Allegra on July 2, 1907. He met and married his wife Victoria (Tokarz) on June 23, 1931. Together they farmed on the homestead in Allegra until 1947. Then they purchased a General Store in Lowland. "The Kondratiuks General Store" was known by many people far and wide. It was always a friendly place to sit and visit. Pete and Victoria operated the store for 42 years where you could always catch up on politics, hear a good joke and lots of story telling. Lots of memories are left behind. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Victoria; daughter Catherine (John) McKoluff; son Adolph (Elizabeth) grandchildren, Miranda (Walter) Romanyshyn, Sanford (Gloria) McKoluff, Sheila (Mike) Verhaeghe, Milton Kondratiuk; great-grandchildren, Cody, Kyle and Lauren; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his parents Michael and Katarina; brother John; sisters, Mary (Alex) Fandych and Annie (Mike) Kapusta. Prayers will be said on Friday, December 29, at 7:30 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue East, Beausejour with Rev. Fr. John Sholdak, the celebrant. Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, December 30, at 10:30 a.m. also at the chapel. Interment will follow in St. Thomas cemetery, Allegra. The family expresses their many thanks to the wonderful caregivers of East Gate Lodge for all the care, kindness and compassion. You ALL were special; also homecare Jim, Jack and Lucille Chay.
