Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN ALBERT PARKER September 14, 1925 - December 25, 2000 John passed away at the Beausejour Hospital at the age of 72 years, after a lengthy illness. John was born and raised in West Kildonan. He had an active career in the Canadian Armed Forces and he was a member of the 1st Battalion PPCLI and fought in the Korean War. John was an active member of the Korean Veterans Association of Canada and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #42. John is survived by his wife Lorraine (nee Plouffe) son Walter (Janine) and grandchildren, Brittany and Kellie; daughter Margaret (Orville) and grandchildren, Peter and Melissa; his brother Art and sister-in-law Mona of London, Ont., as well as many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, December 29 at 3:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk. Johns honorary pallbearers will be his nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Johns memory to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2H8. The family wishes to thank Dr. Dueck and the nurses and staff of the Beausejour Hospital. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
