Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIWANNA KOSTIUK January 21, 1925 - December 26, 2000 Passed away in the early morning hours of December 26, 2000, just as quietly and peacefully as she had lived her life. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of close to 50 years, Volodymyr; her daughters and sons-in-law, Marusia and Roman Wasylkewycz, Luba and Steve Pona, Oksana and Bohdan Stupak, Stefka and Kurt Weber; grandchildren, Talia, Ada and Nata Pona and Andrew and Michael Stupak. Iwanna was predeceased by her parents, Stephania Bosakiw on March 21, 1998; Mychailo Bosakiw on January 14, 1987; an infant sister Oksana and her older sister Marusia during the Second World War. Iwanna was a very quiet, unassuming person who loved and looked forward to the company of her children and grandchildren. Iwanna and her husband made many personal sacrifices in order to help their children get an education and become established. They put very little value on material things, emphasizing instead commitment to family, and support the Ukrainian community. While she still lived in her own house, she enjoyed working in her garden and baking for her husband and children. Iwanna did beautiful hand embroidery and left many hand embroidered pillows and other items by which her family will always remember her. She loved to sing and closely followed the events taking place in Ukraine - the country she was forced to abandon as a young woman during the Second World War. In her younger years, Iwanna was active on church committees and in various Ukrainian organizations and choirs. Panakhyda will be sung 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 29 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 30 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. with Rev. M. Kouts officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Iwannas memory to Pomich Ukraina. VICHNAYA PAMIAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
