EMIL ZAJIC After a courageous struggle with cancer with his family by his side, peacefully on Monday, December 25, 2000, Emil Zajic passed away at the age of 59. Emil was born in Vanlaw, Mb., in March of 1941. Moving to Winnipeg in 1960, Emil was first employed with Canadian Sportswear for 35 years and last being with Gemini Fashions as a computer pattern grader. Emil was a very compassionate, kindhearted family man, who loved helping his children, spending time at the lake and looking after the yard. Emil had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren, who always put a smile on his face. They were his little people. Emil is survived by his wife Josie of 34 years; daughters, Kathy Dusik (Kerry), Donna Collins (Brett) son John; three grandchildren, Tiffany and Bryce Dusik and Tyler Collins. He also leaves to mourn his mother Tillie. Emil was predeceased by his father John in 1971. Panakhyda will be sung at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, December 29, at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, at St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church, 160 Euclid Avenue with Rt. Rev. Mitrat J. Holowaty officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Zajic, Kerry Dusik, Brett Collins, John Borys, Joe Dusik and Joe Dachuk. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Oncology at the St. Boniface Hospital for the kindness and care extended to Emil. The family also wishes to thank nurse Patti at Palliative Care for her compassionate care during Emils final hours. Also a special thank-you to Lesia and John Borys for their support during our difficult time. God looked around His garden And found an empty space He then looked down upon the earth And saw your tired face. He put His arms around you And lifted you to rest Gods garden must be beautiful He only picks the best. He knew you were suffering The road was getting rough So He closed your weary eyelids And whispered Peace be thine. It broke our hearts to lose you But you will not go alone Because part of us went with you The day God called you home. VICHNAYA PAMYAT Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
