DAVID RIEDIGER On Monday, December 25, 2000 at home, David Riediger, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 75 years. Dave was a carpenter by trade, working with Eddy Benjamson and retiring as a general contractor of Riediger Construction. Dave served his country in during the Second World War in the Royal Canadian Navy. Dave was a life long and devoted member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Golf was Daves passion. He was a 30 year member of Elmhurst Golf and Country Club. He and Doris were favourites with the Club staff and made lasting friendships with many people over the years. Elmhurst was always Daves favourite place to celebrate occasions and just hang out! Dave met and married his wife Doris in 1948. She predeceased him in 1995. Dave leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Cathy (Bob) Stewart of Winnipeg, and Debbie (Bruce) Blocker of Kelowna, B.C.; grandchildren Jennifer Blocker and Brett Schelthelm; great-grandchildren Brandon, Daniel and Brittany Blocker; and dear friend Doreen Ridler. Besides his wife Doris, Dave was predeceased by his brother Walter in 1993, his sister Elizabeth and brother Victor in childhood. Viewing was held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2000 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 29th at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 708 McCalman at Grey Street. Viewing was prior to the service. Interment at Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald Street. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
