CURTIS LANDEGA It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Curtis Landega on December 25, 2000 after a courageous battle with cancer. Curtis memory will be cherished by his parents, Andy and Susan; and sisters Meagan and Natasha. As well as his very special friend Lisa Richard. He also leaves to mourn his Aunt Olga Landega, Aunt Lil Krutish, Uncle Joe Krutish, cousins, Bruce and Jason Krutish, Charlene, Gerry, Dannielle and Ryan Vanderhorst. His grandparents, Clarence and Gertrude Hetterly, Aunt Diane Wiebe and Uncle Jake Wiebe, and cousins, Ashlee and Lindsay Wiebe, Uncle Garth Hetterly, Aunt Irene Hetterly, Uncle Doug Hetterly, Aunt Fern Hetterly, and cousins Glenda, Greg and Gena Hetterly, Uncle George Hetterly, Aunt Terri and cousin Erin. Curtis was predeceased by his grandparents Samuel and Verna Landega. Curtis was born January 1, 1981 in Winnipeg. He was raised in Transcona and attended Ecole Central, Ecole Regent Park and College Pierre Elliot Trudeau. He was a bright student and enjoyed his studies. He also enjoyed participating in hockey, basketball and football. His greatest enjoyment came from his electronic equipment and cars. Curtis put up a valiant two-and-a-half year struggle against cancer. His inner strength was unwavering. We all owe Lisa for giving him so much love and enjoyment through such difficult times. We would also like to thank Colin Scott and his family for all their support. Our gratitude goes to Dr. C. Olweny, Michelle, Pat Trozzo, Irene, Marianne, Denise and the staff at CancerCare, St. Boniface, and the staff on 5B Medicine. There will be prayers for Curtis, Friday, December 29, 8 p.m. at the Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. The funeral service will be Saturday, December 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home with the Very Rev. Fr. Henry Lakusta officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
