RENE COTE The Cote family is sad to announce the passing of our dad and grandfather on Tuesday, December 26, 2000 at the age of 85 years at the Wawanesa Personal Care Facility, with his children at his side. Dad is survived by daughters, Linda (Darrell) Sitter, Giselle (Rick) Schween, Marlene (Mike) Reuther, Kim (Mike) Tremblay and son Robert (Brenda) Cote. He will be especially missed by grandchildren, Niki, Josh and Breanne Sitter, Matthew and Chelsea Schween, Banning Cote, Taisha (Dustin) Cox and baby Dawson, Reid, Karina and Mitchell Reuther, Megan and Ian Tremblay. Dad is also survived by his sisters, Anna Lanoie and Antoinette Hogan. He was predeceased by his wife Edna; his parents, Exzilda and Damase; brothers, Edward, Henri and Joseph and by sisters, Rose, Maria and Henriette. Dad was born and lived his entire life in Dunrea, Man. Dads children have fond early memories of watching him curl, his zany carnival costumes, serving coffee in the Dunrea Cafe, driving the school bus, his constant teasing, his cheating at cribbage, and fixing everything in sight - whether it needed it or not. Dads grandchildren will especially miss his great bonfires, riding on his lap on his lawnmower, his ever-present smile and laugh and the pride that he always had for all of them. Dad was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 1986. His wife Edna was his constant companion and caregiver until her death in 1996. Even though Alzheimers had claimed his mind, his gentle spirit was present to the very end. Dad was a resident of the Wawanesa Personal Care Facility since 1993. There are not enough words to describe the care and compassion shown to dad by the staff at the Care Home. We will always be grateful for the love that they showed dad when we couldnt be there. They are all truly blessed. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Felix de Valois R.C. Church in Dunrea, Man. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. However those that so desire, memorial donations in dads memory can be made to the Wawanesa Personal Care Home, Box 309, Wawanesa, MB R0G 2G0. Jamieson Funeral Service of Baldur-Glenboro in care of arrangements 1-204-827-2480. Peace at last, Dad........"you betcha!"
