MICHAEL TUCKER On Thursday, December 28, 2000 at the Arborg and Districts Health Centre, Mike Tucker aged 71 years, of Arborg, Man. Born September 22, 1929 in the R.M. of Bifrost, Mike had farmed in the Arborg district most of his life. In his earlier years, he did some commercial fishing on Lake Winnipeg and later worked with Karl Grant, building boats and commercial fishing with him. Later, cutting cord wood in the winter with his brother-in-law Edgar Bardarson. He raised mink for a number of years and then worked for Interlake Weed Control from which he retired due to ill health. His greatest love in farming was his Hereford Cattle. Mike was a jack of all trades and a master of many. After retirement, he derived much pleasure from his doll collection, fishing and travelling. He was predeceased by his father John in 1952; his mother Katharina in 1988; brother Tony in 1955; sister Mary Corbett in 1983; sister Nellie Bardarson in 1991 and son Marvin James in 1974. Surviving to mourn his loss special friend Eleanor of Calgary; son Michael John of Winnipeg; one sister Rose Machura of Atikokan, Ont., numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2001 at 2:30 p.m. in the Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Chapel, Rev. Neill VonGunten will officiate. Interment will follow in the Jaroslaw Community Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Jaroslaw Community Cemetery, c/o Steve Pudlo, Box 751, Arborg, MB. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
