RAYMOND FRASER COWIESON On Friday, December 29, 2000 at the Grace General Hospital, cradled in the arms of his family, our precious husband, father and son, Raymond Fraser Cowieson, passed into the arms of his Father in heaven. Raymond was born February 3, 1940 in Aberdeen, Scotland, the eldest son of Nicola and James Calais Cowieson. He was educated and lived his childhood in his beloved homeland. Raymond and his father paved the way for the family in their new country by arriving in Canada in the summer of 1957. Father and son set the groundwork for their family to follow in 1958. Ray married the love of his life Valerie (Corgi) on July 28, 1962 beginning a happy 38 years of devotion to each other. This devotion extended to their children, Jim and Heather, whose strength, accomplishments and caring were his greatest source of pride. Four years ago Ray opened his heart to welcome his daughter-in-law Misty and grandson Tyler into his family. Ray spoke fondly of the relationships he developed with friends, co-workers and clients during his successful sales career with Centennial Packers and Beatrice Foods. Sharing the sadness with his family of Val, Jim, Heather, Misty and Tyler are Rays mother Nicola; brother Jim (Marion) sisters, Linda, Jacqueline, Alison and Angela (Don) his brothers-in-law, Norman (Joyce), Dwight and Larry (Judy) Corrigal; sisters-in-law, Sheron Liffmann and Linda Everett; his dearest brother-in-law and best friend Harvey Everett will always cherish his memory. Ray will be forever loved by his many nieces and nephews who shared his love, laughter and humour - each hold special memories of a "special unc". Ray was predeceased by his father James Cowieson. A memorial service celebrating the life and love of our dear Raymond will take place in St. Andrews Anglican Church (Woodhaven), 2700 Portage Ave. on Wednesday, January 3, 2001 at 11:00 a.m., with The Rev. Ian Mills officiating. The family wishes to express thanks to Drs. Pat Harris and David Breckman and the nursing staff of Grace General Hospital for their love and care of our dad. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation or CancerCare Manitoba. Our loss is heavens happiness Good night my love NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
