Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMATILDA EDITH MOORE Matilda Edith Moore went to be with her Lord on December 28, 2000 at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 82 years and 11 months. Edith was predeceased by her parents, John and Jean Moore. She is survived by her sisters, Eileen of Winnipeg, Doris (Ed) DeGroot of Lethbridge, AB; brothers, Wesley (Edythe) of Winnipeg, Kenneth (Merle) of Maryfield, SK and Vernon (Margaret) of Virden, MB. She is also fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Edith was born on February 3,1918 in Maryfield, SK. She attended Plainville School for all her school years. Edith came to Winnipeg at 20 years of age to do domestic work and later worked at Eatons Mail Order Store. She was retired in 1976 at the closing of the department. Edith and her sister, Eileen, lived together in an apartment until 6 months ago when ill health necessitated the move to Central Park Lodge. Edith was a long-time member of Bethesda Church and taught Sunday School for many years. Edith enjoyed many trips and fondly recalled holidays with her families at their farms. Edith was a cheerful and generous giver to missions and her church. She showered her siblings and their children with small gifts. Edith struggled with chronic arthritis but never lost hope of an eventual recovery. Hope sustained her at times when her health was very fragile. A viewing for family and friends will take place at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow. A celebration service of Ediths life will he held at Bethesda Church, 1350 Grant Avenue on Tuesday, January 2, 2001 at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. William Ehlers officiating. Reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideons International of Canada, Canadian Sunday School Mission or Bethesda Church. Ediths family would like to thank Dr. Jain and staff on the 5th floor of Victoria Hospital and the staff of the 3rd floor at Central Park Lodge (Poseidon Bay) for their care. Thanks to Rev.
