Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMR. NORMAN JAMES (NORM) JOBLING Mr. Norman James (Norm) Jobling, beloved husband of Mrs. Audrey O. Jobling of Medicine Hat, formerly of Victoria, B.C., passed away peacefully on December 22, 2000 at the age of 74 years. Norm also leaves to cherish his memory his children, James (MaryAnne) Jobling of Lundar, MB, Calvin (Amy) Jobling of Medicine Hat, AB and Lael (Brian) Dyck of LaSalle, MB and his eight grandchildren; Norman was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Harriet Jobling; daughter Catherine Ann and one granddaughter Nancy Jean Jobling. Norm was born on November 6, 1926 in Moose Jaw, Sask., where he was raised and educated. Norm was a boy-scout and sea cadet then enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve in 1944 where he served until the end of the Second World War. He married his high school sweetheart, Audrey (Jacobson) on October 30, 1946 in Regina and together raised their family in Moose Jaw until 1966 when after more than twenty years as a fireman with the C.P. Railway, he began a second career with the Marshall Field Company of Chicago, Ill. His new job allowed the kind of travel and advancement he sought. Upon retirement in 1986, Norm and Audrey moved to Victoria, B.C., where they enjoyed golf, skiing, gardening and travel. Norm was always an active person both physically and in the community where he was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, B.P.O. Elks and Rotarians. Norm volunteered many hours helping re-organize Moose Jaw Elks Minor Football League in the fifties and sixties as well as coaching the Tech Tornadoes, South Hill Roughriders, Riverview Royals in Moose Jaw and Swift Current Colts in Swift Current, SK. He was also an avid hunter and sportsman. In keeping with Normans wish, a private family service was held and interment followed at the Rosedale Cemetery.
