Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVERA PEARL ROBERTON CAMPBELL (nee SAUNDERS) Peacefully on December 31, 2000 Vera Pearl Roberton Campbell (nee Saunders) at Red River Place in Selkirk, Manitoba. Mom was born on July 20, 1913 in Vancouver, B.C. and moved to Manitoba with her family when she was a child. The family resided in Sydney, MB, Austin, MB and eventually moved to Winnipeg in 1929. She married James (Jim) Roberton in 1933 and together they owned and operated barber shops/beauty salons in the East Kildonan area. They had two sons, Bryan and George. Mom and Dad managed even with their busy schedule to spend as much time as possible at their favourite spot, the cabin at Gull Lake, MB. They also spent time in Sarasota, Florida with Ken and Brownie Roberton. After Dads passing in 1970, Mom owned an operated a beauty salon in North Kildonan for a number of years. She married Wilfred Campbell in 1981 and they were good company for one another for eighteen years. Mom and Wilf moved out to Red River Place in Selkirk in 1996. Wilf passed away in August, 1999 and Mom continued to reside in Selkirk. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Tom and Mary Saunders; brothers, Byron, Earl and Argyle; sister Edna, husband Jim Roberton and Wilf Campbell. She is survived by her sons, Bryan (Bridget) Roberton and George (Joanne) Roberton; stepsons, John (Elenore) Campbell, Reg (Betty Ann) Campbell; grandchildren, Aaron, Jamie and Shane Roberton, Guy Prevost (fiancee Pat), Todd, Tammy, Stephen, Christopher and Alyssa Campbell, numerous other relatives and special little dog Chico. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5, at 11:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Highway, with Rev. James Hatherly officiating. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery. Viewing at Klassen Funeral Chapel on Thursday, January 4, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Special thanks to the staff at Red River Place in Selkirk for their outstanding care and compassion of our mother and grandmother. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Parkinsons Foundation, 204- 825 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg R3A 1M5 or to a charity of ones choice.
