MARILYN RUTH LEWIS (nee GEMMILL) Born December 18, 1939, Winnipeg, MB It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother and Nana on Friday, December 29, 2000, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. She left us surrounded by those whom she loved and who will sadly miss her. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband John; children Jim Amos, Kathryn Powell (Richard), Scott Amos (Jayne), David Amos (Tammy), Lori Lewis (Marleau) and Kelly Lewis; grandchildren Christopher, Amanda, Ashley, Jayson, Kaitlyn, Hilary and Janelle; two half brothers, Butch and Patrick as well as many other beloved relatives and friends. Her parents, Wilford and Celia Gemmill predeceased Marilyn. Marilyns Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2001 at 3:00 p.m. in the Deer Lodge United Church, 2093 Portage Avenue at Belvidere Street. A gathering of family and friends will follow her service. Our family wishes to give our sincere thanks to her doctors as well as the wonderful staff on 4 South at the Grace Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (MB. Division), 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 2B7.
