Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER ALESHKA On April 29, 2001 after a valiant fight, Peter Aleshka passed away peacefully, his loving wife of 56 years at his side. Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife Maria; his son Alex and daughter-in-law Irene of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Carmyn of Toronto and Adam of Winnipeg. Peter was born January 29, 1923 in Poland. In 1945, right after the war, he met Maria and they were married that year. Subsequently they traveled from Germany to Canada, making Winnipeg their home. He was a hardworking man and a devoted husband. He was kind and caring, a special person that treasured the time that was spent with his grandchildren. He will be remembered and greatly missed by everyone that knew him. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Seven Oaks Hospital for their kindness and compassion that they gave during this difficult time. We will always remember and thank Anne Emsky and Helen Diazyk for their timely visit and inspiration that will be forever treasured by the family. Funeral services for family and friends will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3 at Neil Bardal Funeral Home, 984 Portage Ave., corner of Aubrey Street and Portage Avenue, entrance on Aubrey Street. A private family interment will be held at Chapel Lawn Cemetery.
