Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE CHRISTINA HALCHAKAR (nee LUTZ) 1913 - 2001 Surrounded by her family, Rose went to meet her Savior on January 1, 2001, at Concordia Hospital at the age of 87 years. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Audrey (James) Walder, Ruth (Dave) Povey, Bonnie (George) Patrick; sons, Garth (Marie) and Grant (Michelle). She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary, brother, Adam (Maime) and their families and numerous other relatives and friends. Rose was predeceased by her brother Jack; sisters, Betty and Ida and infant son Donald. Rose was born on July 30, 1913, on a homestead in Camper, Man. She was a founding member of Kilcona Park Alliance Church, and loved the music ministry. Rose was a woman of great charity, love, faith, and left an everlasting impression on those around her. She spent many hours gardening, taking care of her goldfish and playing bingo. She especially enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 6, at 9:30 a.m. at Kilcona Park Alliance Church, 1977 Norris Rd. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. Viewing will be held Friday, January 5, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital for their sincere and dedicated care, especially the ICU and the second floor staff. Special thanks to Pastor Ken Johnston and Rev. Doug Longstaffe. In lieu of flowers, remembrances of Rose may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, or to the Kilcona Park Alliance Church Building Fund. "Always in our hearts.
